The day when it all started: the first Beach Rugby Tournament in Lignano (Udine – Italy) – June 1993

In july 1998 Lignano Sabbiadoro is the venue of the first Italian Beach Rugby Championship’s Master Final.

It’s a final ruled by underdogs: in the male tournament first place for Facoceri Roma over Padova Beach, in the female tournament Grazia Deledda Cagliari overcome Red Panthers Treviso.

In 1997 begins the time of Padova Beach, champion for the first time in Lignano Sabbiadoro while San Donà loses another final. In the female tournament, Red Panthers Treviso repeats 1996’s success.

During the same summer beach rugby makes his debut also in Trieste during the Sportshow Fair: Ljubljana is the winner.
