🌍 EBRA Series 2026: European beach rugby returns with great classics and new challenges

The summer of 2026 is once again set to speak the language of beach rugby with the EBRA Series 2026, the international circuit organized by the European Beach Rugby Association, bringing together some of the most prestigious events across the continent.

The calendar was supposed to kick off in mid-May with the Kortrijk stage in Belgium, unfortunately postponed to 2027. In June, the circuit will come to life with a double event on June 20, featuring Marseille with the South Beach Rugby Five and Porto in Portugal, confirming the international scope of the competition.

The journey will then continue in the Netherlands with the North Sea Beach Rugby (June 27–28), before one of the most anticipated weekends of the season: on July 4 and 5, two key stages will take place simultaneously in Lignano Sabbiadoro, Italy, and Costa Blanca, Spain.

The heart of the summer will then host another high-level double event: Vienna and Sopot, both scheduled for July 11–12, ready to welcome teams from all over Europe in a mix of spectacle, competition, and festive atmosphere.

The grand finale will take place in Italy, in Puglia, with the Magna Grecia Beach Rugby (July 18–19), which will also host the European Masters finals, the highlight of the season where the best teams of the circuit will be crowned.

The EBRA Series thus confirms itself as a winning format: fast, intense, and spectacular tournaments, played on smaller pitches with dynamic rules that enhance speed and individual skills. A model that over the years has contributed to the growth of beach rugby across Europe, attracting both men’s and women’s teams from numerous countries.

But it’s not just about competition. The EBRA Series also represents an opportunity for different sporting cultures to come together, with events that combine sport, music, and entertainment, turning each stage into a true summer festival.

With a rich calendar, stunning locations, and an ever-increasing technical level, 2026 is shaping up to be one of the most competitive and widely attended seasons ever. European beach rugby is ready to set the beaches on fire: the show has just begun.

Title: Klagenfurt Beach Rugby 2026 Cancelled: Beach Trophy Event Called Off on Lake Wörthersee

It is now official: the Klagenfurt beach rugby tournament, scheduled for the weekend of June 26–27, 2026, on the shores of Lake Wörthersee, has been cancelled. The decision, announced by the organizers of the “Beach Trophy,” comes after weeks of preparation and anticipation for one of the most awaited summer events in the European beach rugby scene.

Over the years, the event has established itself as one of the most popular beach rugby tournaments in Austria, attracting teams and fans from across Europe. The 2026 edition had been announced with great enthusiasm, aiming to build on the success of previous years and further expand its mix of sport, entertainment, and beachside festivities.

However, in an official statement shared on social media, the organizers confirmed the cancellation: Beach Trophy 2026 will not take place. “Unfortunately, we have to cancel the 2026 edition. It was not an easy decision,” the statement reads, highlighting that the choice was made with regret after evaluating several organizational factors.

The specific reasons behind the cancellation have not been fully disclosed, but it is clear that logistical and organizational challenges played a decisive role in the final decision.

Despite the setback, the organizers are already looking ahead: the event is expected to return in 2027, with the aim of delivering an even stronger and more engaging tournament. The official website confirms the intention to bring the Beach Trophy back to Klagenfurt’s beaches next summer season.

For players and fans, there is disappointment over the loss of an event that represented not only a sporting competition but also a moment of community and celebration. The appointment is only postponed: Klagenfurt is aiming to return as a key stop on the European beach rugby circuit in 2027.

Sopot Beach Rugby 2026 Lights Up the European Summer

Everything is set for Sopot Beach Rugby 2026, one of the most anticipated events on the European calendar, scheduled for July 11 on the stunning beach of Sopot.

The tournament, now a key reference point for the international beach rugby scene, will welcome teams from across Europe, confirming its status as a major stop on the EBRA circuit and contributing to the growth of the sport at a continental level.

The action will kick off at 10:00 AM with the official SBR EBRA Women’s Tournament and SBR EBRA Men’s Tournament, featuring some of the top European teams. High intensity, speed, and spectacular plays will define a competition that continues to captivate both fans and players.

Starting from 12:30 PM, attention will also turn to the SBR Heroes – Amateur Tournament, designed for amateur teams, former players, and enthusiasts eager to experience beach rugby firsthand. This segment highlights the inclusive spirit of the event, blending competition with fun and participation.

Beach Rugby Kortrijk 2026: Tournament Cancelled, Return Planned for 2027

The organizing committee of the Beach Rugby Kortrijk Courtrai Belgium officially announces the cancellation of the edition scheduled for May 16–17.

This decision, taken in the last few hours, comes with great regret but with a strong sense of responsibility toward players, staff, partners, and spectators. The cancellation is due to a series of organizational and logistical challenges that would not have allowed the event to meet the high standards of quality and safety that have always defined the tournament.

Over the years, the tournament has become a key event in the international beach rugby calendar, attracting teams and fans from across Europe and standing out as a celebration of sport, community, and entertainment. In order to preserve this spirit, the organizers have decided to cancel the event rather than deliver a reduced version.

Evaluations for the future are already underway, with the aim of bringing the tournament back to the international calendar in 2027, with an even stronger and more engaging format.

The organizing committee would like to thank all clubs, athletes, and partners who had already confirmed their participation, as well as the local authorities for their continued support.

The event is therefore postponed, with the hope of returning to the sand soon with even greater enthusiasm.
